I'm more of an event and automotive shooter, but a previous client wants some photos of a pair of shoes she's designing. Even after being up front with her about my lack of studio gear, she still wants me to take these photos.
Is there anything overly difficult when getting some macro shots? I'm gonna get some plain white drapes and since i don't have a studio I'm gonna be shooting this in her living room. I won't really be making any money out of this except gas (her words, not mine). My flash isn't the best, and I don't even have an off hotshoe bracket for this sort of thing. She wants me to shoot these for her tomorrow, and I kind of have to since i'm delivering her photos from the original gig she hired me for.
I was going to try some practice shots tonight, but my plan is to find a table and prop that against a wall, hang these drapes over the table and a wall and aim some lights towards these shoes. Speaking of lighting, the two lighting enhancers I usually use are the standard bounce card and an omni bounce diffuser I got with my camera flash. Other than that I'm open to any suggestions.
GEAR I HAVE:
270ex flash
28-105mm 3.5-4.5
50mm 1.8 II
manfrotto tripod
They're not terrible, but not as amazing looking as some of the portraits I've been taking.
