Indoor dog show - poor light

Anyone had much experience shooting in low light dog show? My issues having a fast enough shutter speed with out blurring the object. So lets say taking your TV mode to 800 and a F2.8 and running your ISO at 1600. After shooting a few the picture in the screen still looks dark. So bumping your iso to high with cause it to become grainy? Any suggestions?
