I'm an old school BMX'er. I have a hard time photographing skate. It's a world where kids won't show off, if you're not dressed right they won't do tricks for you etc. But the local park to me is a place where the kids have come to know me somewhat. I've held off doing bmx for a bit now. I wanted to have my technique down and my new camera learned before I hit the trails.

Some samples from today. Thoughts and opinions welcome.

people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional
Full frame and some primes.

Full frame serves you right, nice shots, How do they keep them park "pools" from getting filled up from water?

In shot 2 the guy's ass is hiding the drain. It was plugged with bottle rockets too.

Which park is that!! lol

PS. What were you shooting with in these shots?

I picked up a flash yesterday (580EX) and was out again today at the south surrey park. Shooting a couple BMX dudes. I'm finding that the kit lens is the best i've got for this stuff :(

I've set my mind on the 17-40L as my next lens (ok.. so i'm still waivering)
