You can find information about Canon EOS cameras at this link.

http://consumer.usa.canon.com …tIndexAct&fcategoryid=111 (external link)

The EOS series of cameras are SLR(Single Lens Reflex) cameras. There is a mirror in front of the digital sensor that flips up when a photo is taken. The S30 doesn't have a mirror in front of the sensor.

thanks for your replys.

the reason i asked about this is because this forum says:

IMAGE NOT FOUND
HTTP response: NOT FOUND | MIME changed to 'text/html'
"Accessories & Storage
Everything about accessories for Canon digital EOS system. Storage, cards, bags, tripods, straps, remotes..."

so does that mean that if i have a battery or flashcard question that pertains to my Canon S30, i should not ask it here? Which forum should i use to ask questions about general issues, that may effect any camera, like battery or flashcard, or resolution or compression etc?

please pardon me. i am brand new to this forum. just started today.

thank you very much.

Welcome. If you're asking about your S30, batteries, cards, attachments and the like for it, use the Small Compact Digitals byCanon forum. If it's truly general, not about your particular camera or its settings, ask in Talk About Photography.

EOS is an acronym that many people assumes stands for Electronic Optical System.

Very few know that the real meaning is Emasculates Other Systems.

Don't disclose this information to anyone unless you first warn them, "I could tell you, but then I would have to kill you."
