Shot my first football this weekend...I'm new to this and used to hockey so I was way out of my element so please let me know what I can improve on (besides buying the f/2.8 lens I know I need to buy) and let me know what you think!

Look good for the first time out. You got the ball and faces which is half the battle! Couple things I notice...

#2 - I'd crop Portrait to remove the ref, probably even the defender.

#3 - Seems like a weird crop, very tall. Maybe go with a 4x6 ratio?

#4 - Straighten out the horizon, looks like he's running up-hill.

#6 - Too bad #11 is where he is, not much you can do there.

It could be my eyes, but the purples seem to be slightly different in each shot.

Overall though, not bad for the fist time out.

Thanks, as I said I shoot hockey so not used to football cropping and didn't know whether to take the defender out of number two or not and now that I look at 3 it does look tall. Also noticed the horizon and I will fix that one!

Thanks for the compliments and criticism, it's the only way I'll get better!

Drew
