I currently have Cactus v5 triggers and they work fine with my 2x430exII's. My gripe is they are manual only and when inside a modifier it is a real pain to adjust the flash power. Even when I have a light on a stand above 6-7' I have a hard time adjusting them because... I am not 6-7' tall.

I have read up on PW and the zone controller but honestly cannot afford that at this time. I would love ETTL functionality but it is far from a requirement, the only requirement is radio triggers.

So my question(s)...

1. Is there a setup for $500 or less that would give me ettl, hsync and the ability to control both of my flashes manually all from my camera. This is the "something to save for" option and more wishful thinking than anything.

2. Is there a cheaper option that would give me the ability to manually control flash output without climbing a ladder or opening up the softbox?

Heh, I love the V5's for what they are and they work flawlessly so far. I would be completely happy with a 100% manual solution if (and a big if) I didn't have to change power settings on the actual flash. I will give them to you in spirit once replaced ;)

Is it me, or does it seem that all the Cactus and Phottix users eventually end up getting the Pocket Wizards :)
