Hi, I am just starting out in astrophotogaphy and am slowly improving with the post processing in deep sky stacker. I was just wondering if there is anywhere I can download someone elses initial picture from dss to have a practice with? I have a couple of stacks I play about with but they're not great

Sure, I have several. They're about 80mb each so I'll upload them to a server and then post the links. I'll put up my finished images from each too.

Jeff, many thanks in advance!

I live in England and it seems the only cloud free nights only occur when there is a full moon

Here ya go:

All were taken with a 50D and the other info is on the page.
For each run, I stacked the images, upped the saturation to about 18%, and upped the midtone sliders a little. (This is the point the tiff files are at)

I did other processing in Photoshop to get the final result.

Please post your final images. I'd be curious to see someone elses results.

Don't forget, each file is about 90mb.
