I have not Photoshopped these, it really was Sunny in North Yorkshire in early Novemeber ;)

As always this proved to be a superb event and a nice warm up for the Roger Albert Clark Rally in a few weeks....not forgetting the Grizedale Stages too!

1. Overall winners Charlie Payne & Craig Thorley in a Ford Focus WRC.

[IMAGE TOO SMALL, NOT RENDERED INLINE]

2. A shot of Steve Petch's Hyundai Accent WRC before he went off the road a bit later....then did it again 200 metres down the road from the first off!
[IMAGE TOO SMALL, NOT RENDERED INLINE]

3. Tim Mason & Graham Wild won the Historic category...and finished 9th overall!

4. Finally, a sideways MK1 Escort...some of you may recognise the strange chap with the Video camera in the background ;)

Just the 4, lest i be accused of boring you all. It was a 1DMKIV & Canon 200 f2.8L affair, brought to you in association with Asda Sausage Rolls and some home made Ham & Cheese Sandwiches.

The sausage rolls were excellent, and the sarnies even better :-).

Great stuff Geoff. The shot of Petch's Accent is superb. You should've posted the Avenger shot!

Simon.

Very nice, shame about the person in the background of the last two.

Having seen Simon's YouTube video I'm guessing that's Simon in the background and you're the bloke who got a bit of a fright when the Opel rolled at the exit of the corner?

Does the Focus have fake lights in or the lights taped up?

Spot on in all departments Geoff, love the way you have superb sharpness yet wheels are blurred ,superb.

Porka shot is my favourite here, and that 200 f2.8 is a sharp one !

Yes it's Mr H and yes it's me in the video. In reality, the car ended up a good 10 metres from me but as Simon will no doubt agree i'm very twitchy when shooting Rallies and will start to move when others stand their ground.

As for the Focus, they're just normal lights i would think. "Fake" ones wouldn't be allowed for the road sections.

The 200 f2.8 is a superb lens and a bit of a bargain. I got mine "used" but in reality it's as good as new for under £500....As for the sharpness / wheel blur combination, the standard issue 1/320th only fails in really slow corners. However it loses me a few shots as i've got used to a monopod with the bigger lenses and my hand-held technique is a bit off at the moment.

Better to move when you don't need to than not move when you do!
It must just be the way the light is hitting the lights, it looked like duct tape or those rallycross style sticker lights.

I've just had a looked at the original files at full size...it's actually condensation on the inside of the lights!

Really like that Avenger shot - the clarity on the crews faces is just superb.

Hope you don't mind me posting the link (I'll remove it if you want), but click below to see the video you can see me filming in some of Geoff's photos: -

Cheers for that Geoff ,will try 320th this weekend on Rally GB and see what happens.
