NCAA Women's Soccer Hope v Calvin

This one had the makings of a classic with two huge rivalries squaring off for a game where a playoff berth was on the line. Unfortunately, the side I support (Hope) dropped the match 3-2. Great game, great weather, great gear all made it, well, a great experience. Thought I'd post one image from the match since there don't seem to be many that I can find (unless I am searching incorrectly) that are shot with the lens I used.

Gear wise, I picked up a 300mm f4 (non-IS) just for this match since I am getting away from sports as much as I can (its for sale in the classifieds if anyone is interested). That said, it performed very, very well as I expected it would. I did use it with and without the 1.4x tc and saw no real difference in IQ or speed. Shot with the 1DMkIII body, exif included, feel free to crit if you like and if not, hope you like.

thanks Mark, kind of you to say. I'll shot my kids games to some degree but I'm not going to be out seeking work and instead focusing on just being a dad and husband and shooting for enjoyment. I LOVE shooting sports but the money isn't there given the time spent, gear needed, and frustration levels. Maybe someday when my kids are all out of the house and I'm too old to race my bikes, I'll go back at it but for now, I'm going to step out of it unless its a game I really want to do for personal reasons. My kit is down to a 24-105 and my now, for sale 300 f4. Hoping to pick up a 135 and just have the one zoom and one prime so I won't even have the gear to shoot many sports even if I wanted to. I'm sure I'll miss it at times, but I have a feeling that I'll be happier in the long run, even if its just taking a break here for a while.
