Hello,
I have a friend who's teenage daughter just bought her first DSLR (T3I)
Since she bought the camera herself, buying any of the better editing programs is out of the question for right now.
Anyways, while trying to install the canon digital solutions disk on their computer we are having trouble. It is a gateway windows pc, Someone had installed the Ubuntu operating system on it when they were having trouble with windows.
When we try installing the canon solution disk that came with her new T3I, it will not install and everything I tried is not working. I am the first to admit that I know nothing about the Ubuntu or Linux operating system.
Any advice on how to get this disk installed for this teenager who is really excited to get more into photography?
As a short fix to let her get her feet wet with editing, I was able to download and install the google picasa program for her. I also pointed her to this great forum for any questions that she had about her camera or techniques.
Thanks in advance.
John
Addendum; I just saw the computers forum and realize that I posted this thread in the wrong place, maybe a Mod can move it for me. Thanks.
