I have an offer of photographer for a ROTC drill team event and have no clue what goes on during one of these. Evidently the high school has never had a photographer when they host so this would be a first for both. So far, I'm hearing there is no guarantee of making money and the school would "suggest" a donation of part of the profits, if any. They're wanting not only the teams in action, but also individual/team portraits. The school is providing a projector, printer, and paper. I have all the equipment I need including lighting and backdrops for portraits. Also, an assistant to help out.
I'm just looking for some views/comments from someone who has shot one of these. It sounds like it could be as hectic as a wedding with a chance of walking away with very little money at the end of the day.
Pros/Cons? Thanks in advance.
