I was toying around with a temporary inexpensive solution for hanging my backgrounds.

Get 2 of these (without the rubber coating) $0.50/ea at Home Depot

Get a 10' length of 3/4" heavy pipe ~ $5.00 at home depot

  • Screw hooks into ceiling in basement (mine are in the joists)
  • Put paper over pipe
  • put pipe in hooks
Voila!

You don't need heavy pipe. I like to use 10' sections of 1/2" or 3/4" EMT ("thinwall" conduit), found in the electrical section of Home Depot. Under $3 each for the 1/2".

If I were going to use hooks like that, I would definitely WANT the rubber coating. It will keep the tubing from slipping.
