Ok, did some headshots earlier today. Stupid me, I missed the stray hair on this guy. Got a couple of other workable shots but got the stray hair in all of them (wish my wife could have assisted, she picks this stuff up for me all of the time--I've gotten lazy).

Anyway, looking to see the best way I can get rid of the stray hair. I use LR 3 but I can do a few things in PS, just not great in it but I can fumble through. Any suggestions are appreciated.

P.S. I know the WB is off on this, I'll fix that.

What version of Photoshop?
There are various methods of doing it. You can use the cloning tool, Patch tool or Content Aware fill.

I only have CS3--haven't upgraded because of my slow machine.

I thought about the cloning tool but I've only used it for smaller areas. Whenever I've tried on larger areas, it doesn't look right.

I'll have to look at the Patch Tool and Content Aware thing.

Thanks.

Can't see the stray hair. Sure you're not just being picky?

I see wrinkles from repetitive cloning…

Go slowly.

:::sigh::: I'm with ya. Gotta work on this. I'm horrible at these kinds of touchups. That's my main weakness right now...PP.

If you can get PS5 and use the heal set to 'content aware', that should work fine on the full size image. It really is FAR superior to CS3. I say that as I went from CS3 to CS5 , bypassing CS4 altogether.

My problem is my computer is a bit too old. I'm thinking CS5 is going to be slooooooow on it so I've not upgraded.

On the example edit that you made. You probably used the clone tool. One next step you can use to remove the clone patterns is to use the patch tool to bring back the skin texture from surrounding untouched areas.

I'll have to see if I can do that--without screwing it up worse. :)
