Does anybody use one and are happy or not

Yep - have used one on my 7D for a while now and love it compared to the hard plastic one that comes with the camera. I would definitely recommend one. More so if you wear glasses too, because the rubber on the hoodman is super soft and very forgiving against eyeglasses.
