Hello all. I was lucky enough to have a little time off the morning Union Pacific 844 cruised through El Paso on its way to Arizona and wanted to share a few pictures. The train was half a step ahead of me the whole time thanks to traffic hugging the border, so I pretty much missed all of the running shots, but here are a few I'm proud of. Thoughts and comments welcome. Thanks!

Sean

Very nice Sean. Nothing like steam power. Looks like you had a most enjoyable day - save the traffic part...

Looks pretty good considering the clouds that did you no favors.

Great stuff. When it came through the Bay Area a few years ago, I had my 40D and kit lens for about 3 days. The results were no where near as nice as yours! Now that I know what I am doing at least a little bit, I hope UP sees its way to sending it back to California again soon.

Thanks for the kind comments! They advertise in El Paso, over 300 days a year of sun shine and of course... that day was not one of them. I tried to do the best I could considering though.... Was still a sight to see!

Itsed65, i think 844 is on its way to Cali, before it rolls through Nevada and Utah. I don't think it will be as far north as the bay area though. My wife lived in the Bay Area for a few years, I've always wanted to see the San Bernardino train, but never have...

Nice shots. Thanks for sharing. This locomotive is supposed to be out this way next week, but I'm still debating if I want to join the circus that will be chasing the train as it travels from West Colton to Las Vegas.

Thanks Kszok. Yeah the crowds were a little bigger than I thought they would be given the area, makes it hard to get clean shots.
