I got this on a little vacation that I took to Catalina. The look on her face just has "fun" written all over it.

I WISH I would have gotten their names so I could get a release. Seems like the kind of thing stock agencies would go for.

I was thinking of cropping behind the mother's ear, but I couldn't really find any compelling reason why I should, so I left it as framed by the camera. In any event, critique and comment welcome.

The first thing I thought when I looked at this was "I'd have cropped that behind the mother's ear..." The compelling reason for ME, would be to allow the adorable little face to dominate the image, not the pony tail and back of Mom's head. To me, that serves no purpose but to distract and dominate the image. But, you thought about it, and decided to not do that, so to YOU, you prefer it as it was shot. Very cute little girl, by the way.

OK, well, lets give it a try.

Are you sure that this doesn't push her face too far to the left? My thought with the crop is that she is looking out of frame (OK, so she is looking at her mother, but her face is still placed such that there is more room behind her than in front.)

At least with the uncropped, she is centered.

Anyone else have a thought?

The cropped version is much better. Now,just add a lil more PP to give it that pop.

The cropping worked well. I would like it better if it was a little more from the side so as to see more of the mothers face/eyes.
