I decided to practice and test my speedlights, gels, diy gobo and umbrellas and take some portraits of my wife. So, I made my "home-studio" in a small room of our aparment in a following way:
- hanged a black bedsheet on the wall and put gelled YN-468 on the floor with full power to light it
- a shoot-through umbrella with Metz AF-1 50 (I think it was something like 1/64 power) to the camera right
- a YN-468 with DIY gobo to camera left, behind subject (something like 1/128 power)
- flashes were triggered with RF-602's
- camera settings: EOS 7D with nifty-fifty (EF 50mm 1.8 II) at f/2.2, 1/200th and ISO 200
