file numbering

may seem a strange question, but........
how many digits are available for file names on the 7D. I have a 50D and you have IMG_xxxx so unless i import through canon utilities the file numbers start repeating after only 9999 images.
Also, can you change the file numbering system 'in camera' to something like 7D_xxxxx

My Gear: R5, RF 24-105L,, 100L IS Macro, 17-40L, 100-400L mkii, EF 1.4 mkiii converter
