Pentax to Canon EF adapter question

Hello.

I need to mount a Pentax lens (an older K mount, manual focus) to a Canon camera, and need a good adapter. Preferably one that allows auto focus confirm, and equally importantly (or more importantly, actually), one that mounts the lens correctly and not at an angle, as cheaper adapters sometimes do.

Guess I'm asking for a recommendation for a good one, or a 'stay-away' warning for a bad one, if you have either to share.

I am aware of the aperture lever issue.

I bought an adapter on eBay a while back but it's not autofocus. I didn't know he K mounts had autofocus lenses. I thought they were all manual.

it is for a manual focus lens.
but if i'm not mistaken, some adapters have a chip that can make the camera say "beep" when the lens is correctly focused. i will have to turn the ring myself..

but good (tight) fit and correct angle is more important than the "beep"

Did not know that. I have my beep off on my camera. That would get annoying at weddings.

yea, i can imagine that it would. (luckily the buildings i normally shoot don't mind : )

you could just have it light up the red-focus dot that you have active as well...

I have one in a M42 screw fitting .. does just that, confirms focus when you manually focus. Equally, if not better than the old split screen focus confirm. If you're really trying to nail the focus, enabling the beep just makes it that much better (as it only beeps when you manually refocus).

I just replaced 5 ebay adapters (Nikkor to EOS) with Fotodiox. I find the Fotodiox to provide a very good fit for the lens into the adapater and the adapter into my EOS body. I prefer the fit to the generic eBay adapaters.

Here is a link on Amazon - I am guessing they are also available on eBay. I believe it is an Illinois company.

You both are recommending the Fotodiox Adapter. Just curious -- what cameras do you both have, and what pentax lens are you connecting?

i have a T3i, and am looking for an adapter to connect my pentax k-mount 17MM. i think the Fotodiox model on amazon will work, but any additional details are appreciated.
