Just curious - did you experience any difference in the keeper rate when using a speedlight with an infrared focus assist beam or an ST-E2? Also, does the camera orientation and/or the feature to have separate AF modes tied to orientation enabled play into it possibly?

maybe you just got a lemon. kinda like how my car is totally screwed up haha. faulty ones are bound to slip through the cracks, and of course a company wont want to fix it or admit it.
