Everyone seemed surprised by the weight/size/IQ of the 70-300L when it came out. I hope the same holds true for a new 100-400L.

I'm certainly happy enough with my 100-400 that a MkII would have to have a spectacular jump in IQ and/or features for me to drop 2500 on it. Once the price gets down around 1800-1900 I might consider it.

same here, the current 100-400 is pretty sharp. I think I'll hold on to it for a while
