These were taken near Sossusvlei, where the huge dunes march down towards the sea, blocking off the river which is usually dry and ends in a lake bed or pan (vlei in Africanse). Unusually it had rained (a few mm only) and the dunes were covered in a downy grass which had already turne to straw and gone to seed. An amazing site.

wonderful series...but the hdr-ish look to the sky in #1 doesn't work. Love that 3rd one..you can probably crop some sky out and make it a pano look.

Come with me...i'll take you places.

All excellent but #2 is my favorite. KUDOS.

Have plenty of Canons, enough ammo, enough to blow 'em to "L". Now, I just have to learn to aim.

Lovely shots! Like Sunman, I find them just a bit too HDR-ish. Tone it down just a fraction and they will be absolutely spot-on!

Cheers, Helen

These are fantastic! Love the color and the drama. The sky in #1 absolutely works for me.
