Yeah, seeing his pic kinda makes me feel motivated to clean my work space, but only kinda. Even if I had the energy there's a couple of items sitting there that are two heavy for me to lift right now. This recovering-from-abdominal-surgery-stuff sucks.

Very nice setup, Sheldon, but ported speakers? The U2711 deserves a pair of Mini Maggies:

I know, they aren't quite up to the standards of true audiophiledom. They're pretty nice sounding speakers though...

Yes, very nice indeed. I have that monitor on the right and have been badly wanting the one on the left. What was the special price that you paid? Also, what mounting system is that for the two screens?

Under $700 after sales tax and shipping. I think regular price is around $1100 before tax.

The monitor stand is this one from Amazon. It's only supposed to hold 2 x 24", but it seems just fine with 27 + 24.

I just did that after seeing sheldons haha

Haha... I just threw everything from the desk on the floor before I took the picture. My office is a disaster of boxes and extra crap right now. Here's what it looks like for real...

Ouch, that's no fun. Hope all is well.

Nice! Do you hide POTN every time the boss walks by?

And I can't believe you're three fisted with caffeine. No wonder you've got the post count you do. :)

Ah... the 200! Is it bad that i noticed and recognized the case before i spotted the actual lens?

Your space is kinda cramped, and surprisingly bare walls...

Nope... 300 2.8 IS. :)

Space actually isn't too cramped, when not full of boxes. It's something like 9x13, our fourth bedroom that I commandeered for my office.

I do need to get something on the wall though. Maybe a couple of nice canvas prints. The thing on the back wall is just acoustic damping.

300! oh man...

But i secretly desire the 200. Do you get much use out of the 300?

I'd be happy to accommodate you with some of my landscapes ;)

Just yankin' yer chain, Sheldon. I am *very* familiar with Usher speakers. They are, indeed, excellent.

What's with the Nikon gear on the floor, Sheldon? Are those the items you're selling for a friend?

Quite the mantel piece. Better than a poor little creatures head.

I've gotten about 4 hours worth of use out of the 300 so far. :) It was a very good deal and I couldn't say no, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to hang on to it long term. I'm thinking of a few portrait projects right now though.

If I could have one of the supertele's, it probably would be the 200/2. I had the 200 1.8 briefly and it was a dream.

Thanks Dave.. I know you have impeccable taste when it comes to these kinds of things. :)

Yes, all the stuff in the lower left... that and the D3x hiding on the shelf in the background. There's a treasure trove of manual focus nikkors in one of those bags.

Next week is vacation aka product photography/ebay week!

My wife has bought into me converting my office into a studio (10X10), I can shoot from the living room into the office. She's relieved to be rid of my sh*t I'm sure. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to uphold the standards of mr. clean from Portland though.
