What?? Why? Are you trying to fund a single Broncolor pack?

I'm hoping all of that Canon gear is his to sell and decides to keep the Nikon gear. :p

You did better than I did, Mike. I got a 20" tall "vintage" stuffed Superman doll and a papaya. No, I'm not kidding.

Dave F.

hell the doll is something fun haha

I also got one pack of twix :D (2 bars)

Oh, it's all for sale... spent the whole darn day taking product photos of all that stuff.

At the end I thought I would take a group shot for fun before I tore everything down. Afterwards I was taking the lights down and I looked over on the floor... I had like 10 more items left to shoot. Aaargh! :)

Most of the stuff is my buddy's that I'm selling for him. The Canon stuff is mine, stuff I don't need anymore or stuff that I picked up cheap to help fund other gear.

Not funding a Bron pack...but I do have my eyes on a couple new things. 1DX, 35L II and 24-70L II (if they get announced), an Avenger A4039CS, and a Mamiya RZ67 II kit... and maybe the new G13 or Canon G mirrorless or whatever it's going to be.

So...what lightingntoys did you all get?

I got light meter and two cybersyncs...now have five. They work well.

Maxi lite, Pixel King triggers, Avenger stand and translucent reflector. Think my Christmas presents were quite good this year. :)

Knowing him he probably already read it and is just taking his time plotting something interesting, last time i gave him ideas this time i'll refrain and see if i can make it out unscathed.

Well we happily survived Christmas, even if it did involve a Christmas night trip to the Emergency Vet !!

Puppy is gonna be OK but the MasterCard took a severe hammering !!

Next job, Break the shrink-wrap on my new CS5 and Lightroom boxes and load them onto the new 'puter !!

Question.............

Ah, don't worry, I'll post in a different thread !!

Nighty night all,

Austen.

That's how I spent my Christmas eve last year, Austen. Our bearded collie suffered a seizure at around 6pm. We had to rush her to the emergency veterinary hospital where we remained until 1am Christmas morning. The vet said she'd probably be fine but wanted to keep her overnight for observation. I asked how much that would cost. I just about needed to be rushed to the ER myself when I was told the "basic" fee for the night would be $1,100!! I could have gotten her a private room at the Mayo Clinic for less.

Our Abigail recovered and was fine. I'm glad to hear your emergency also had a happy outcome.

Probably would be a good idea to put NSFW on this since it doesn't show in the URL that this leads to the G&N forum.

Thanks for the kind words Dave, there must be some sort of International Veterinary Pricing Cartel, That's about exactly how much our vet wanted to keep our dog overnight for x-rays and observation !!!

Fortunately as "Puppy" is a disgustingly healthy two-and-a-half-year-old Labrador who had spent most of the previous day playing silly-buggers the vet was reasonably sure that he had just strained / pulled / tore a muscle / joint / tendon and would be OK to send home with anti-inflammatory / pain-killer medication.

He seems to be well on the mend now !!

To keep on-topic....I wish I had of got the Elinchrom strobes out and taken a photograph !!

Cheers,

Austen.

Nice! No new lighting toys per se, but I do have a bit of cash money to spend. Short list of things I want for my wedding setup:

1) BlackRapid DR-1
2) Newton folding flash rotator bracket (x2)
3) dual ettl cord (x2)

This is army training stuff here.... I'm guessing that get-up with a 7D+5dII with a 24-70 and a 70-200 would be 20-30lbs? Weddings are a good workout. :-P
