Well, it can be revived as a photo example thread...

I have been busy recruiting us a new member :), although it may be a while before Dáithí can wield a maxilite.

Congrats! :)

Ok... something Elinchrom related.

I was using one of the D-Lite 4 IT (on full power for a while) with the modeling light on full power as well. After a while the modeling light just stopped working, but beyond that the flash continued working. This was two days ago.

Today I picked up a spare bulb, and what do you know. When I plugged the flash into the socket, the old bulb was working. Did something overheat the last time and it just stopped working temporarily? Is this normal? It's the first time it happened to me, but then again I'm not normally using the flash on full power for a longer time.

That's always normal :D

I was using the Junior Octa to light a new watch I was photographing. I was shooting at f/14 (ISO 200), so that I would get enough DOF, but I was using black and white cards so the light would hit it just right... meaning I lost a lot of light. I was using the model light on full power, because I wanted to see exactly what was reflected in the watch from the octal, and since the room was far from dark, I needed all the output I could get.

So, this is not that usual for me, I just happened to need both at full power this time :)

I like this one, the light with background light is blended well together.

What lens did you use for the 1st one, Brenden? Or did the lens have a filter on it. I'm asking because the bokeh looks funky (for a lack of a better way to describe it).

I used a 200 F2. I think the bokeh looks a bit weird is because it's a bit blurred... 1/20th of a second. Love that lens..

You mean motion blurred. Hmmm, I wonder if that's the cause. Take a look at the blurred light just to the right of the lady's upper leg. It looks like there are three lights there instead of a single light which I'm assuming is the case. Motion blur would not cause that unless the light was blinking rapidly.

Oh well, I was just curious...
