I'd like to see Elinchrom release a AC main adapter for the Ranger pack like Profoto and Hensel does for their battery operated line.

No problems with the Quadra running off its adapter.

I'm looking forward to the Quadra lithium battery packs... nearly half the size with twice the capacity.

+1, but Quadra can last for a while unplugged in the studio. Shooting not at full power I can shoot long enough to recharge the other battery and then swap. :)

Also looking forwards to the Lithium battery, already saving money for it. Guess then I will have to get rid of the 2 lead batteries I have (don't think they will see any use afterwards).

Yeah the same though I usually only use the Quadra's for the key light when I need their fast flash duration... which is the one disappointing thing to me about their monolight range. Been meaning to find out the flash duration of an action zoom-head is on the Digital 2400rx. If anyone knows please speak up

Got to agree, I'd ditch the Quadra if it wasn't for the duration. Maybe it's time you bought the bron pack and heads on ebay Rai :P

You see I don't have my own studio, so usually when I borrow one I bring my own lights (as usually the studios have some sort of Bowens stuff). So Quadra gets used as main light and rim/kick/hair light :)

Both shoots unplugged Quadra at 3.0 power (or so) and it lasted for hours (~400 shots in the second shoot). Just swap batteries when the slow charge kicks in. :)

I wouldn't ditch Quadra at all, actually would like to add another pack but my budget won't let me. :(

I'm thinking of getting this Motor cycle battery to replace the battery in the quadra.
It's supposed to not need any special charging circuit. So it should charge with the standard charger.

60mmX60mmX103 so it should fit easily.

Full specs here: http://www.ballisticparts.com …cts/batteries/EVO2-50.php (external link)

And it's red!

Point one at the background and one as key with a reflector down low. Get the subject as far from the BG as you can, don't nuke it.

If I was to guess, I'd say I can get over 100 Channel A full power shots with a Ranger RX Speed pac. I've not needed to plug in, but if I did, I'd use a Radio Popper trigger and manually set the power.

So for the final update on my speedring, I just got off the phone with bogan imaging and they are replacing the speedring free of charge. I have to say that while their check in process is a bit lagging, and them having it for almost 2 weeks before it was logged in is a bit disconcerting. It's hard to be mad when they replace a 3 year old speedring for free. Also I do have to say that the few times I called, I was never put on hold for any period of time, and when they said they would call me back they did promptly. Joan from the service department was also very friendly and always answered my questions honestly. So I have to say that while I wish it could have been a bit faster I am quite please with the service overall.
