I ordered from bostroms.nu. I got the D-Lite 2 it to go but in the delivery note it said BXRi 250/250 and oddly enough wrong company name (aifo instead of boströms). A bit angry I took a photo of the delivery note, package and sent it in an e-mail to boströms. Half an hour later, 21:00, I got an answer where they said the stock hotel (not sure about the english word for it) must have made a mistake and they would contact them first thing in the morning so they would send the correct package right away and a consignment note so I can send the wrong one back. Good service so far. :)

I saw that they do ship to Finland as well, but that one need to contact them to get exact shipping costs for outside Sweden. Might be that the prices aren't low enough for that to pay off.

Great that their customer service is good anyway :)

Ask them. :) I don't think it would be so expensive. :)

Can someone please explain or verify what this email meant?
(I emailed Innovatronix why can't I plug in multiple Dlites with my Exp XT SE when other Dlite users can)
they wrote back:

-----------

The compatibility of multiple Elinchrom Dlites with Explorer XT SE is based on the monoblock's firmware.

If your monoblocks' firmware is r2 and above, you can plug in more than 2 DLites with Exp XT SE, even at full power.
If your monoblock's firmware is r1, we can only recommend one Dlite at full power, or 2 units but not at full power.

To check the firmware, plug your monoblock to a wall socket, turn it on and for a short period of time, it will display
(on the digital read out) an r-X value, where x is a number.
Monoblocks with firmware r2 and above are the newer ones.

-----------

I have yet to receive their answer on what's the difference of r1s and r2s.
I tried it and saw that mine is r1, it was less than a second and I never paid attention to it until i knew this.
When you try to power up your Elinchrom, do you see the same r-value? And what does yours say?

Mine reads r4, I bought them about 18 months ago.

The beauty of having a garage "studio" is playing around. This is my version of John Keatley's Annie Leibovitz portrait. Good fun.

Firmware is the software in an embedded control system that controls how it works. From the response Innovatronix sent, they are saying that if you have Elinchrom Lights that are Revision 1 they recommend one Dlite at full power, or 2 units but not at full power. I do not own Elinchrom Dlites, so I can not tell you if the firmware in your lights is something that a user can update.

Thank you! :)

I'm not sure I mean warehouse. :S I mean a company that rent space in their warehouse and provides the service of shipping to customers so smaller companies don't have to have their own warehouse. (Kind of like a web hotel but IRL. ;) )

Just thought I'd throw it out there as I haven't seen too much about this.
Using a 28" Westcott Apollo with the Elinchrom Ranger.
I keep the diffusion panel gaffed up, so I've got a nice indirect lightbank.. and
i can tilt it too ;)

I also added a shot I did with the setup today!

Hey all

Got a bit of a tricky question here for the Elinchrom wizz's here.

I've got a Ranger RX AS with A-head. It's worked perfectly for the past 6 months, never skipped a beat.
Today arrived a second flash head, just the S-head.

The S-Head is really intermittent in operation.

The pack charges up, I press the test button, and it fires. Sometimes.

Then other times the pack charges up, I press the test button, and all I get is a tiny little click sound from the head itself, but no light, and the lights on the Ranger flash quickly, as if the test button has been pressed while no head was connected.

It's definitely not a triggering issue, as I'm pressing the button myself, and this issue doesn't occur with the A-Head at all.

Is this an indication of a faulty flash tube? Seems odd that it works sometimes and not others.

Appreciate any help,

Josh
