Cheers Rai,

looks like the problem is sorted now.

The discharge wire spiralling around the glass tube was too close to the thin metal reflector behind the tube, at one end of the tube, and as such, was shorting out, preventing the flash from firing.

I just adjusted as best I could the discharge wire and it hasn't skipped a beat since!

Now all I need to do is work out how to get fast sync speeds with PocketWizards!

Managed to realise a childhood dream yesterday, when a beautiful 25th Anniversary Lamborghini Countach entered the studio. Had a model car of these since a very young age, such an iconic car!

You can't fully appreciate it until you see it in the metal:
