Yo Scott seen your recent stuff on Flickr, looks great! See the background with the road closed markings and the wire fence? I used that too, got it from that sxc site. There's some amazing stuff on shutterstock but can't justify the huge prices lol!

Hmmm whilst I'm here are there any 70cm Deep Octa users here? I can't release the catches to fold mine down, it requires a set of pliers to do it, should it be pretty easy by hand? Mine is pretty much brand new.....

My sig is his best work.

Lol I was (still am) confused at Sigmas sig linking to Scotts stream!? Anyone want to fill me in lol?!

Ralph and Leo yeah I wasn't putting enough pressure on the ribs lol! Still quite tough but doable by hand !! Thanks :)

Thanks Scott will take a look at the video just now, I seen a few of Andrei Oprincas vids before!
Do any of you guys pay for shutterstock subscriptions? Like £1500 a year (ouch), might have to go out and shoot my own like Joel Grimes ha! I'm using rear lights to rim light the outside of the cheek bones, but trying to find a way of only lighting a strip down the middle of the face leaving some of the cheeks in shadow for that depth (does that make sense). Might try the old reflector covered in duct tape like Joel suggests.......

I own a DSLR, some lenses and some lights.

Ahhhh ok! Now I see! Guys, see when you're using a beauty dish and grid (I like my dramatic shadows), the light fall off is obviously quite dramatic on the face (to the meter). When it comes to incident metering, do you find it best to meter at the hottest point on the face, as moving the meter only an inch can result in big variations?

Also I've been taking my beauty dish readings with the rim lights firing too as they tend to add about a third of a stop or so ...obviously which the dome picks up?? At first I was trying to meter each individually which I found pretty pointless in the end....
