Thanks! I haven't gotten to use them much since I bought them. Working full-time leaves me very little time to play with them. :(

Don't feel alone in that regard.

Just recently picked up this case off CL to store all my strobes. I love my Elinchroms!

Guys,........

Do you normally use 1/10 increments on your strobes? I was thinking today, when my light meter read f/6.3 and I needed f/8.0 (2/3 stops higher).......

How the hell do I work out how many presses of the power up button to equal 2/3 stops?
I understand going a full stop is 10 presses by the way!

My guess would be 7 presses? Am I right?

Blurgh!

I own a DSLR, some lenses and some lights.

I guess I should post this in this thread as well. I've got a couple of twinhead Quadra kits, but I'm thinking of selling them to get some Godox AD360 kits.

I've setup a different thread for it so as not to pollute the already running ones (and I explain why over there), so anyone with some comments would be much appreciated.

Hey thanks! How many pops on average are you seeing from a full charge?

I have never really used more than +-100 full power pops on a shoot, that usually equals to 1 or 2 LED off the scale. :) So would estimate full battery ~300ish.

Lol I'm using a light meter! I just figured to change the Quadra scale from 1/10 to 1/3 steps! :)

Why not press as many times as you think you need, i.e. 7 times (which, btw, is close enough for the 2/3 stop increase you want), and then take another reading to see if got it to f/8 or close to it. Fine tune the adjustment further if required. :)

I like 1/10 increment adjustment, not that any body on this thread cares what I like.

I rather use 1/10 of 1/3 setting. I get a finer tuning of the light. One thing I have to get use to using a 360 which is in 3rds

Thanks for the replies guys! Yeah pretty much Iv'e been doing what Leo suggests but being the control freak I am I figured I needed to understand the quantum psychics behind why 6 steps is two thirds leaving 4 steps bla bla bla!

Yeah so anyway I took my Maxi Lite out for the first time today, wife in the car, holding the boom and...........it pissed it down so we went home. I really need to start scouting locations prior, we always get in the car driving around with me saying no too busy, no too plain, no too cloudy :p You guys in the US have such big quiet open spaces. I mean, Scott has these empty Gas stations in the desert to shoot, we have a few acres of grass, water and 67,000,000 people residing who look at you like you're an alien when you're carrying a DSLR, let alone shooting some talent with location gear.

Ralph I always care about what you have to say!
Scott who was the chap in your BTS vid asking where the guns had gone? I actually laughed my ass off!
