[/B]Thanks for the replies guys! Yeah pretty much Iv'e been doing what Leo suggests but being the control freak I am I figured I needed to understand the quantum psychics behind why 6 steps is two thirds leaving 4 steps bla bla bla![/B]

2/3 = .66666666...... or, rounding to the nearest tenths, .7.
1/3 = .33333333...... or, rounding to the nearest tenths, .3.

2/3 + 1/3 = 1 and .7 + .3 = 1.

So everything comes out as you would expect. No quantum physics involved. ;)

I have the Sekonic L-558 light meter which is set to display aperture stops in 1/3 stops. But it also displays the fractional part of the apeture in tenths. Bet that would confuse some people even more, huh? ;)

Using my Daughter as subject to practise again. 44cm softlite diffused and gridded. Two rear strips to rim light where the light fell off.

Holy cow! That's an awesome portrait. She's beautiful, her looks must come from her mom's side of the family:p

WOW great portrait! Never thought to diffuse+ grid, I'm going give that a shot. Which strip box did you use? I'm planning on picking up two.

Hey thanks guys really appreciate it! Ralph that made me chuckle! Slick the two strips are just some generic brand that came with the textile style grids, it's funny with the diffused and gridded dish, I couldn't get the power low enough on the BRX 500 so I ended up stacking it! I also used the white elinchrom deflector. Now Elinchrom say not to do this because the wingnut on the deflector will damage the grid so I took the circlip off of the deflector tube and replaced the wingnut with a flat headed bolt.
