Another rabbit trail I'm thinking of exploring... I am interested in this reflector, but I don't want to pay that kind of crazy money ($485!?!).

You can see it in action starting at 3:08 in this video:

I was thinking of heat bending some PVC pipe to make a frame, but then I ran across this link for an even simpler DIY solution.

Any thoughts? Do you like the look of what the reflector does?

Have you waded through this thread, Sheldon:

Did you know that the penalty for impersonating a moderator is a permanent ban from the forum after getting all your hard earned gear confiscated?

Yeah that's what I thought. 135 and 100 do are very similar that's why I'm leaning more towards the 175.

Very similar in construction but they can be very different in how they shape the light.

I really like the light I get from the DO with the center deflector and no diffusion panels.

the 135 and the 100 deep work well together. Do it!

Wanna swap a 135 for your fireball?

I have a spare...

So, that's the Para 170FB reflecting off the eyes? Did you have the ringflash positioned all the way back (away from the Para)?

Exif says 5D II + 50mm L at f/2.

I'm guessing he had to use an ND filter, given that he was shooting with a 3200 watt second pack.
