Here are the first of many great shots that I walked away with at Aviation Nation 2011. The weather was absolutely horrendous in the morning for shooting anything in the air, but it made for great light on the statics if you were willing to get creative. In the afternoon it finally cleared up enough to put some sun on the area.

I'll probably be uploading more static shots as I get to them, there are dozens that have great potential, just need a little caressing. I'll keep it confined to this thread. Would love any feedback as I'm going to start looking to invest more time and money into aviation photography.

That B-2 shot at #2 is outstanding; way to work with the conditions! :)

Thanks Eric :) I think that was my favorite shot of the day.

Here's another I just finished: QF-4 Phantom of 82d ATRS

Thank you, guys! Arty is sort of what I was going for, haha. Would like to get a few of these printed for a future 'plane room/man cave' in my house

not liking the super amount of negative space on the first (and last/post 7), but what do I know?

Loving that Phantom, not a fan of the negative space on first and seventh though

I did not like trying to photograph the statics. After the show on Saturday, there was really hardly any time to get shots of the statics. I did not bother attending Sunday due to the weather.

thanks, I have a few more in that vein that I might try to process, I just love the lines of the tactical jets. beautiful designs.

:) The phantom might be my all time favorite jet. Been dying to get a picture(s) of one. I do love my some negative space, I think it's one of those subjective things.

They were pretty pushy about getting us out sunday too, but there were still some moments with great light. I thought the weather sunday was a blessing and a curse - it made the statics look great but shooting anything in the air was just not worth it until about noon or so. I have hundreds of shots of planes floating in white space...boring.

Nice pictures.
I was there on Sunday and the weather and conditions were not optimal.

I love #2
