Anyone on here have any experience with this scope? Looking to get it for my kids for a Christmas present but not sure.

Thanks.

Kevin

Hello Kevin,
Last year i bought the 102 SLT version from Costco and returned it as I wanted something more powerful and a much better mount. I ended up buying a Celestron C9.25 for about ten times the price. Long story short, it was a decent scope with good optics. I posted an image that I took with it of the moon, extremely clear and sharp. If you search my posts, you'll find the image. I was at Costco yesterday and saw that they now have the newer GT version, although I didn't see a price and it's not listed on their website. I am seriously contemplating picking it up as it would be nice to have as a quick grab and go scope when I don't feel like lugging the big scope out. If you saw the scope at Costco and purchase it from them, they have a very good return policy, try it out for a few months and if you are unhappy with it, simply return it and get the kids something else. Just my 2 cents.
Joe
