I have seen this done previously, but it seems like a dying art, like adults eating oatmeal! I had elder vivitars, but i think or thought they couldn't adapt without slamming the shutter? This is actually a really low budget UWA zoom that is still in production. I tout it all over POTN. Vivitar, Phoenix, Promaster, Cosina, and at least one or two others market the same glass under their own names. Poor contrast and color, but very sharp with great corners, usually under $75 used (often $50 on Ebay).
BTW, in the past few years I took up eating oatmeal....
