Today is my very special Day.

I was always lurking, reading everything about 5D almost everyday for three years.

Today... I get a second hand 5D mk II. I still don't believe it is there, sitting on my desk.

I hope I will love this camera :)

Congratulations silverant! Like yourself, my previous camera is a 550d/T2i, and thus far I'm liking the differences between the two.

I look forward to seeing some of your photographs.

David

My second copy of the 5D2 is en route now. I was selling stuff to get a 5D3, but now will be staying with the 5D2 for a while. This will be my first time being FF only as my 7D is shipping out today. Love these cameras and can't wait for my new one to get here!

A Nikon user prospective:

I got my first 5d2 last Friday. Coming from Nikon D800 after Nikon D700, 5dm2 is much simpler camera than d800. It is as simple as it gets. Can't set limits on autoiso can't set limits on minimum shutter speed in autoiso features which all u can set in d800. For example my 5dm2 always wants to use 1/45 shutter speed with 50mm 1.8 II. I'd prefer to use 1/80 and above with that lens. But I do realize that I am
Comparing a 2008 camera with 2012 one Which is not fair. Also viewfinder looks tiny compared to both d700 or d800. In fact holding my 7d and 5d2 side by side I am not sure my
Viewfinder view is larger on 5d

I also noticed that white balance in auto inside my home with incandescent lights is just so wrong. My
Wifes green shirt was being rendered yellow and my
Newborns face was being rendered yellow to red. Which all can
Be fixed in pp, but Nikons wb are just better.

On the positive things the skin colors in natural light are just brilliant. They are absolutely the best and truest to real life. Camera grips on canon 5d2 and 7d are super comfortable. So far I am very happy with portraits on 5dm2. It is a keeper.
