i searched but didnt find what i was looking for...
ok so my wife picked up my son a celestron AstroMaster 76EQ telescope for christmas... of course she got a smokin deal on it hence why she didnt mention it to me when she bought it.. think she got it for like $40... having a coupon, on sale and a gift card...

anyway... i saw the box and it said 1 1/4" eyepiece...

so can you recommend an adapter that i can hookup my t2i to the telescope?

now does this mean that you hookup the camera without a lens? is it possible to get further magnification with a lens?

thanks

Yup, so you found the T-adapter that you need to attach to the camera and T-threaded adapter to slide into the 1.25" focuser. This is called "prime focus" photography, using the telescope as the lens of the camera. You can use a barlow between the telescope and camera to double, quadruple, or whatever the magnification. Sometimes that's enough to fill the frame with the moon. For higher magnification, you want to do "image projection" with another adapter that allows you to put a telescope eyepiece in the light path. The eyepiece magnifies the image even more and projects it onto the camera sensor. The higher the magnification, the less light will hit the sensor. Focusing becomes more difficult. Tracking requirements become more stringent.

if i get that.. this will go inside of the 1.25 focuser? then the t-threaded adapter.. not sure how that connects...
hmm more googling... or if someone can point me into the right direction.. i do want to get something with more magnification

so after research.. i see a barlow will allow from x2 to x3... but if you guy junk.. you will get vignette in the view... hmm these things arent cheap..

guess motor first and camera and t-adapter first...
