HI EVERYONE
I have 2 580Ex and I do kown that I can use the canon wireless. However, the distance is not very good for a open space or church. I m going to purchase the Pocket Wizard Plus, my question is: do I need 1 Transmitter + 1 Reciever, or 1 Trans + 2 reciever since I have 2 Canon 580EX, please advice, thx.

So I guess I cannot trigger one 580EX as master and other one as slave rite? Thx

What's the range for wireless-ttl anyway? I'm assuming 15-20ft. wouldn't be a problem.

Thats right, however, the slave unit is not working sometimes, thats the problem... I did have my slave receiver facing the master, somehow it still randomly not working... said

I'm not sure on this but you might be able to have one flash on your camera hot shoe and the pocket wizard transmitter plugged into the cameras pc terminal (if it has one). Both flashes would need to be set to manual I assume.

A possible configuration is:

Pocket Wizard Transmitter in the camera hot shoe
One 580EX connected to Pocket Wizard Receiver with one of these (external link)
Second 580EX triggered using one of these (external link) (used as an optical slave) or maybe even one of these (external link) (as long as the metal base doesn't cause a problem with the pins on the 580EX shoe)

You'll most likely need a flash meter as well, as this would be an all-manual system.

I have not tested this system - if this concept is flawed in any way, I am sure someone else will tell us why ;)

Yep two PW receivers and two of the Paramount Cords is going to be the best solution. Remember you can also use the PWs to trigger cameras as well - so you can set up a nifty remote camera if you ever feel that way inclined!

The Sekonic L358 should be just fine as a meter - there are numerous threads on it if you do a quick search on the forum.

Good luck.
