For rainy weather, it will do the job--its impossible for water to drip up inside the body battery compartment unless you flip it upside down. The grip itself should be adequately sealed against water, so it won't blow out your body. Note that ONLY bodies with weather sealing would have matching grips with weather sealing. Official grips for bodies like the t2i are not sealed in any way.

We had plenty of time saved up, because we were so busy in '09 and '10, so we took a month off (paid, naturally), and travelled in Australia. Would love to do that again
