Canon is really going ALL OUT in allowing manufacturers to discount these things so heavily. I'm seeing other retailers at the 2075 price point for the 70-200 II now. I wonder if others will soon follow at 1975

Better than what Nikon did by putting down the iron fist and saying no manufacturer could lower prices below what they say.

canon does the same. In this case, I'm certain retailers got the go-ahead from Canon to lower the prices with rebate.

If retailers choose not to play ball with Canons draconian policies, they lose their authorized retailer status!
