If you have a laptop monitor, lean your monitor down like your going to half close it, anyplace the white stuff turns blue is a blow out (super fun trick). Brandy 500px

Nick blew his whites a smidge as well but only a tiny but, yours lost more details. I don't think that dress in the pic you linked to, is touching the backdrop, which is why its darker around the dress, light is not hitting it. hahaha im using a desktop so now im sitting and standing looking at the top of the monitor at an angle my wife says to me what the heck are you doing? thanks for the tips I think im going to make it just a B&W with no gradient filter on it

After I learned it I went back and looked at my old pics I had so many with bits of over exposure on the face (I have pale kids!) now I never accidentally blow my whites when working in photoshop!
