Girl's home opener for the season. Had a few issues with one strobe. It would not fire contently. Between quarters of the first game took a look at the receiver, the prongs for the battery was not making good contact. Fixed that, but it was still not firing constantly. At half time put fresh batteries in it and it seemed to work, then it stooped all together. LOL Took another look, and found out that I must have not put the battery cover on all the way, as the receive was laying on the floor. Put it back together and it worked fine the rest of the evening. Grrrr

Anyway, shot with two bodies (Mrk III and Mrk Iv), the sigma 120-300 on one and the sigma 70-200 and Canon 24-70L on the other. Had some problems with the 24-70 was back focusing for some reason. Only had about 60 keepers from each game. Been awhile since I had so many problems.

First three are with the 120-300, ISO 800, SS 1/320 and f/4:

I'm assuming since you posted them that C&C is ok. There are things about all of them, except for #3, that I don't like. Color and tone are fine IMO, it's more the composition or cropping that I don't care for. First two suffer from unfortunate backgrounds. You've got a 300mm, which is roughly 390 or so, I'm not sure why some aren't shot tighter or at least cropped that way. #4 would have been better if you were positioned further to your right as you were shooting but there's nothing that can be done about that now. There's no clear point as to who the focus is supposed to be on, the girl who fell or the girl with ball. #5 could be cropped tighter. Except for #3 they all probably get deleted in camera for me. I'm not trying to be harsh, just giving my honest opinion. Feel free to critique any photo I've posted. I can dish as well as take. Thanks for the post.

which sigma 70-200 did you use and did you had much trouble with focusing speed and accuracy?

The new OS model. It (as most sigmas) don't lock on as fast as the L's do, but the short delay is not an issue with me. Once it locks on, it tracts just great.
