Went to Lakota Wolf Preserve in NJ today, and thought I would share this with you. C&C welcome.

You had an excellent day for it, Nick. Wish I had been there. Do you have any others to share?

Yes, it was worth the money. It was a little cheaper going with a camera store than going alone. Approx 2/3 the cost, which also include the bus ride, and lunch.

Phil. Another pic from yesterday. Takes me forever downsizing the pics to fit here. Hope you like.

Phil. Shot the wolves/bobcats/foxes w/ my 300L & 1.4x TC on 5DMII. No cropping, just downsizing. Files were approx 8MB in size before downsizing. Maybe next time, I will use a 400mm for shots of the wolves that were far away. Tamron was a partial sponsor of the trip, and loaned, for free, their 200-500mm lenses. A woman near me said she used the lens at close to 450mm, and was 'burning' a lot of shots on her N*k*n D3s. She took approx 1000 pics in the three (3) hours we were there. If I only could afford the 1Ds or 1Dx.

Licked you? The wolves at Lakota are wild, in their natural habitat. We were not allowed to put our lenses through the small holes in the 8 ft high fences for fear that the animals would attack. Safety was #1 there. FWIW; I will go back next year with a longer lens, though.

well maybe that was the benefit of being the only one there. i wouldn't exactly call them wild.

yes, i was leaning against the fence photographing one wolf, when i looked up and another had came up and was licking my arm.

You are a better man than I. I won't even put my hand out to a dog that I do not know. BTW, I checked out your site. Very nice.

Hi Kate. yes, I was there last Saturday. I looked for you, but, did not see you. We seperated into the five or six groups very quickly. In the picture, that Mike took at the end, I am wearing the Steeler jacket, naturally. I will look for some of your pics.

We were there a few years back -- yes, it is.

@Nick nice series.

Did you print and hang any?

Now, you mentioned Dan's and Mike -- You mean the young Mike who has annual nature calendars?

I'll have to stay in touch with their schedule -- A Dan's run out to Lakota would be worth it. Avoid all the driving.

Ahh I see you now. Yeah you were in the pink group, I was in orange I think. Im at the bottom right in the group photo. With the knit hat and pink jacket cradling my 7D +70-200 like a fierce mamma bear "my preccciooouussss." Im having a rough day, so it was nice to look at those pictures again.

Kate. yes. I saw you in the picture, when I got home. Glad my pics helped your rough day. Wish I had the 70-200, but, I am a prime-aholic.
