Hi Everyone,
I recently (last few month) purchased three sigma lenses (150-500, 150 OS Macro, 10-20). They are all working perfectly and I am having a lot of fun.
I was wondering why there were so many bad feelings about that brand.
Let share our views on them and our sigma lens collection.
cheers

my 18-50 2.8 is great!! i had a problem with my AF not focusing after my lens getting hit, but i sent it in to sigma and they fixed it free of charge. works great since. they make great quality glass and pretty sharp. and the 30 1.4 is one of their sharpest glass that can rival with a canon.

All of my Sigmas have been perfect on the first try. I was the most worried about my Sigma 85mm, but even that was spot on and sharp at f/1.4. I couldn't ask for anything more.

I'll probably give the Sigma 70-200mm OS a shot if I ever decide to sell my Canon f/4 IS version.

My 70-200mm f/2.8 OS has been stellar. I suspect we mostly read about the sigma copies having issues and not the ones performing as expected, so this is a good way to send some praises Sigma's way.

I've got two Sigma's, and plan on getting more. Both have given me the results I desire. I'd love to buy all Canon L's, but the EX line of Sigma is outstanding.....and a whole lot less in money. Tamron also has some great glass.

Because not all of their lenses are spot on with focusing without being serviced by Sigma. I have even tried out their 500 f4.5, a $4k lens, same deal. I mean, if they can't get the focus right with their $4k lens, I just don't see how much better would be with their cheaper ones. I do have a Sigma 50 and I love it. It has been serviced by Sigma though.

The 70-200 is not bad. Is pretty good but until you need to quickly switch focus on a group of fast moving subjects, the lens will miss it. I tried the OS version too but ending up with the Canon markII version.

I've been using 17-50 OS for about six months after renting the canon 17-55. No regrets on purchasing the sigma.

My Sigma 30mm is spot on. However I am thinking of moving on to the Canon 24mm since I think it will suit my style better. From what I hear the chances of getting one that works properly on a crop sensor is about 1 in 10...

I own two Sigma lenses (listed in sig) and both have been completely issue/trouble free. One was used (WELL-used), the other was new, fresh out of the box. My experience with Sigma lenses has been every bit as good as my experience with Canon lenses. No complaints here.

My sigma 30 has been absolutely trouble free since day 1. It's the lens I'll miss the most if I decide to go FF, mainly because it's going to cost me alot more money to match it's iq/speed in an EF mount.

I bought Sigma 17-50 /2.8 OS in April and haven't had any issues. Upgraded from my Tamron 17-50 non-VC and it was indeed an upgrade in every way - and Tamron was an excellent lens to begin with.

I think there was a lot of AF issues on some Sigma primes. Either Sigma had improved their QC since, or may be the issues were related to particular models only. Everyone I knew who had the old Sigma 18-50/2.8 was happy with it.

My sigma's have been great. Can't complain. Love the 10yr warranty and the cost savings!
