As of yesterday morning, christmas music started playing on the radio. Lights went up in my nehborhood. And last but not least i started decorating last weekend.
So with all this said, what are you looking to get pictures of this season?

I, myself want to try to find some carolers in the snow with lights in the backround.

Hitting Lake Tahoe over Thanksgiving, maybe Canada or Yosemite over holiday season.

As for actual Christmas photos... probably nothing much. No snow, no carolers on the street, and probably not that many decorations over here :P

I'm hoping to capture Chester roasting on an open fire...

Chester happens to be the Programming Director at the local radio station who decided that it was ok to play Christmas music the day after Halloween!

Well first thing is going to be family Christmas pictures. Being in Tucson,Az we get great Sunsets. So I'm thinking an evening shoot with clouds, lot's of oranges and pinks in them with saguaros in the background for the family shot. My new wireless triggers will be here on Wed so I'll have a few days to play with the new setup for a few days before the shoot.

Don't forget about the Reid Park Zoo's holiday lights exhibit during december. That's always good for lights, decorations and animals.

This Thanksgiving day the family and I went down to the desert museum for a few hours and I got plenty of photos of the desert, birds, hummingbirds, bears, beavers, desert cats, prairie dogs, and many other critters (along with a few pics of the family ;) ).

As a member of the local swedish group I have several holiday events/dinners I'll be expected to photograph for my parents.

I will be heading for Spring Mill S.P. this evening. One weekend before Christmas they stay open late and portray Christmas as it was in the 1800's. The grist mill, tavern, and other early 1800s period structures will be open and re-enactors doing period activities. I expect a lot of candle lit scenes, garland, etc. Today I will study how to make the best of it. Unfortunetly my tripod of 14 years broken a quick release so now I have it taped in place...

We are spending this Christmas in Chiang Mai in northern Thailand instead of heading back to Australia for the break.

I'm thinkng while my wife mooches around the city shopping, I might hire a motorbike, head into the mountains and see some village life.

Already had a cool mini session with a photographer and the wife has already put together the order for the cards.

I'll be taking a lot of snaps of my son (16 mos right now). I've been practicing a lot with the new flash. Also hope to get some good pics of the lights in the subdivision to put on our site (on the board). I wish we got snow down here in the south.

Of course we'll be hunting down Santa too. We had some good shots last year, but the photographer never delivered the prints and would never return our calls. Luckily I got a few on my iphone that were suitable for small prints. I think I'll be going back to the same site and hoping it's the same person this year to get what we're owed.

T3i, Sigma 10-20, Sigma 30 1.4, 18-55 kit, 55-250, YN-565, a few books, some software, and a desire to get good.....

On Christmas morning, going up the local hill overlooking Denver, decorate a plant (probably a Yucca) and take a picture of it with the sunrise. I did this last year and want to make it a tradition.

The only problem - I'm not allowed an alarm clock on non-work days, so it's dependent on waking up early enough.

And Denver zoo lights, at twilight (no so easy because of the opening hours), with snow and decent/interesting clouds.
