Similar offer exists for Video Studio X4 as well: http://www.newegg.com …aspx?Item=N82E16832106230 (external link)

Looking at reviews, looks like X4 versions are pretty good.

Not sure about this, but it claims 16-bit processing "for over 20 tools". It also has HDR tools and "Photo Blend".

Wow...sounds good, has anyone used this? I'd like to try some HDR.

It's decent software as far as features and interface goes. I used the previous version and they install some copy protection service that ALWAYS runs. More annoyingly, the program crashed about every 4th time I used it.

Yes I've been using it heavily for several years; started with X12. I upgraded to X14 last month. The HDR is much improved over X12. Awesome software, and unbeatable at this price. I actually paid $85 for it at Amazon last month and found it a worthy upgrade even at that price. Now it's $41 at Amazon lol

Never ever had a single issue with it. I have X12 on three Windows 7 workstations and X14 also on one of these systems. It's fast and very stable.

Corel Paint Shop Pro X4 Ultimate $39 for Full Version

Corel's week long Black Friday deal is $39 (full Boxed Version w/ Free Shipping or via Download) for PSP X4 Ultimate version. The Ultimate version includes a bunch of extras: WinZip Pro v 15, KPT Collection 24 Plug-ins, NIK Color EFex Pro 3.0 plug-ins, and more.

There's a trial version available as well. I gave it a run and found it to have several rough edges to some of the screens and sliders, etc. It didn't crash on Win XP Pro SP3 running on a Dual Core 4 GB system.

At the price, it is hard to ignore. If the plug-ins will also run with the current Adobe LR 3.6 and PS 5.x versions (as I believe they will but have yet to confirm by trying) that alone may be worth the reasonable price of admission.

I am going to buy that ultimate bundle just for the Color Efex Pro. That's $150 software. Even if I never use it for anything else than a container to run the Color Efex Plugin, it will be well worth the price.
I don't see any negative reviews about stability with version x4, so maybe it was just X2.

THanks Bentlax! I almost ordered it last night, and said "eh it's on sale all week, I'll do it tomorrow."

Just grabbed it for $25.

I have a good feeling that you can't return a download, but $39 was still a bargain.

Corel has a 30 Day Refund Guarantee. It does apply to the download versions as well.

If you can get in on the Amazon deal grab it!

I ordered the Newegg deal. Shipping via UPS innovations so should arrive by Christmas (UPS innovations has to be the slowest method of moving goods yet found). Hope the HDR is reasonable as that was my motivation.

When I order from Adorama or B&H and I see "UPS Innovations" in the tracking info...I have to admit my first impulse is to cringe. Like a gag reflex lol But actually it's been really quick last couple times, under 1 week. I live on the west coast. The tracking info showed it cross country in 2 days (so they must be flying a lot of this stuff) and then delivered in another 2 days.

The HDR in X4 is pretty cool IMO, quite a change from X12. I'm not an HDR guy though, so not very demanding of that feature.

I was bummed cuz the gold box deal didn't seem to link, thought I just got passed the 3 hour mark, but... i searched and it seems to be 19.99 from amazon. Am I missing something?

Edit: Ultimate is 40, nevermind I see now

That's regular x4. The "ultimate" kit comes with some fancy extra plugins mentioned above. The deal on that one is over, but it is still a bargain at $40. I was going to happily pay that but lucked into a deal at the right time.

If you don't do the ultimate, get the free after rebate offer in the first post.

Three ways to ensure you don't get an order shipped this way:

Place your order directly with a sales guy on the 'phone.
Place an Internet order, & as soon as you get your order confirmation 'phone the sales team with that number to request UPS ground.
Place an Internet order, & don't select Super Saver or Standard shipping at checkout.

You can download the software from their Corel's website and start using it right away. They have a 30day trial (fully functional). When the box arrives, just enter the code.
