This fall has been incredibly busy but I took a few days to go Pheasant hunting in South Dakota - one of my favorite activities. And, the prairie is such a different environment than the areas I usually photograph and I enjoy the change of pace.

I took a handful of pictures while I was there, most of which are sitting un-touched in Adobe Bridge right now. But, I managed to finish the image below - hopefully more to come.

I like your fence plus the fact it is in B & W.

I live on the prairies in Manitoba so I can certainly identify with all three photos.

The area around where I live looks like pic #3 although there are other areas in Manitoba that look like #1.

I love the first image. Rolling fields and the color really catch my interest.

just a few of my thoughts...

Thank you - and no, its not HDR. In fact, I didnt even need an ND Grad for that one - it was just the polarizer that brought out the sky.

I'd love to get up to your area sometime...Ive heard about it but never been. I dont think non-residents can hunt pheasants though.... :)

Thanks everyone!

Lots of Americans come to Manitoba for fishing and hunting. I don't have anything against people that hunt, firearms or anything else but I do all my shooting with a camera. It could be worth looking into if you are interested. Heck, the Province will appreciate your tourist dollars as well as the local business. :)
