Just saw this ISO800 pic from a D200:

If this is genuine and not run through any noise reduction software then I have to say that I am somewhat impressed.

Impressive stuff. Can't wait to see what Canon hit back with, as Etaf points out it can only be good for us! I'll be looking to upgrade my body in about March next year (primarily to get a sensor which has less noise at high ISO) so hopefully Canon get the 20D replacement out by then.

It's pretty nice, though there seems to be a little softness on the duck in some areas. The detail is slightly blurred, though the water drops look pretty crisp. I'd say that there's some noise reduction going on whether in PP or in the camera itself, but it is pretty effective.

I wonder if it uses the same type of scheme as the D2x where the high-ISO noise reduction eats away detail.

Nikon cameras seem to make gorgeouscolors, very well saturated without being too over the top.

Did anyone notice the sponsored links to Nikon at the top of this page?
There'll be hell to pay if the hardcore Canonians notice that.

I am not overly fussed about it myself but some people are fiercely brand loyal.

Fun to speculate.
But untill you actually try on the coat, you won't know if it will fit. ;)
