PSE 10 is on sale for $49.99 at Amazon. Too bad I just bought it for $70 a few weeks ago. Thought it would be of interest to someone.

I think that's cheaper than upgrading from 9. Thanks for the tip.

Does it have any tools for HDR?

I played with the trial of PE9, liked it but didn't see enough extras to warrant spending $100 when Picasa does most of what I need.

You can also download it directly from Adobe for $50 (2.0 GB download, 56K beware!) They show the price as being good through Nov. 29.

Funny - the full version of PSE10 is on sale for $50, but the upgrade version is still $79.99.

I would suggest not buying the upgrade :).

Forgive this long post but I did not see anything in my search.
About a month ago, PSE7- stopped working. Message: “Photoshop Elements 7 Has Stopped Working” followed by a single option to close the program.
This happened when selecting a photo for ‘Full edit’. Then it stopped loading all together. Then a computer freeze.
So, uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Same message. Then decided to install trial version of PSE10. Installed fine.
Same message updated to say “Photoshop Elements 10 Has Stopped Working”. When I try to reload it, I get a computer freeze and need to reboot.
Is this a known problem with a known solution? I am on an HP computer with vista Home Premium operating system. Very frustrating.
Went to adobe Live Chat. No help. Went to toll free tech support, disconnected three times from overseas. Not good.
And advise?
John

You could be having a system problem. You could try a Windows System Restore to a date prior to when you started having this problem, and if that helps reinstall PSE10...

JohnW: You could do a Google search for 'Elements "stopped working"' (with double quotes around the last 2 words). For example, this link (external link) looks like it contains some useful information.

Thanks, I will look at it.
Both PSE and CS4 now stop at "Building color conversion tables" and require the program to close.
Really disappointing support from Adobe reps.
Again thanks,
John
