Wow, what a great set of images this week! You all made it very tough on me.
BasAndrews - Super close-up shot! I really liked the blurred wings, and the frozen moment delivered by this shot. The depth of field is ok, as is the balance of the composition. There are a few blown-out spots, and I wish the background contained more of the light green colour, but over all - very good!
airfrogusmc - A great little hummer! You really nailed the focus on the eye of the bird, and it shows the feather colours very well. I wish the bird was a little lower in the frame, and instead of so much negative space to the left, I'd rather see a flower or two that the hummingbird might be flying towards.
N.V.M. - Classic bird-in-flight shot. The bird is nicely in focus, and the feather detail is great. I love the OOF background which still retains enough clarity to provide the setting for the shot. I think you could have cropped the picture a little tighter to give more emphasis to the gull, but overall, very nice!
Maureen Souza - This shot just brings a smile to my face everytime I look at it. It is just gorgeous, and as a birder I am even more impressed. It is difficult to capture a white bird in harsh light without losing some of the feather detail, but despite the losses, the overall impression is still very pleasing. Well done!
UK_Tomcat_Fan - I don't know what kind of plane this is (a Swordfish maybe?) but it's a terrific photo - well timed with the salutes, and at a very good angle. The shadows and wing struts are a bit distracting, but not as much as the watermark at the bottom of the frame - I'd lose that. I'd like to know the focal length and f-stop you used because it worked very well. Nicely done.
Kevan - A very dramatic shot! These poor pidgeons look like there about to be swept away by a hurricane. I don't know how you got the angle on this shot, but it's great! The desaturation works well here I think. These birds don't offer much colour anyway, and it really adds to the mood. Well done!
CalmAsToast - I don't know if it's a golden light, or golden flies, but it's very effective. I like the composition, although there seems to be something OOF in the foreground that is somewhat distracting, and I wish more of the insects were in focus, but overall a very nice image!
Mike53545 - Fantastic shot! I love birds; I love eagles; and this is a beautifully timed and technically excellent shot! Well done! The bird is a little bit too much in the centre of the frame. I would have cropped in a little tighter and moved the bird to the left a bit. Also, and most importantly, the giant red URL in the bottom corner is very distracting. If you must have it, I would suggest maybe a white font and 1/3 the size.
T3 Heavy Shop - A very nicely timed shot, and a well composed image! I love the concentration on the face of the rider, and the bright summer's day provides exscellent light and a pleasing mood. Well done!
John_B - Stunning colours and excellent movement in this one! It's a real postcard of a shot. You must be loving that Tamron 18-250. I wish the image was larger and without the watermark, but either way, an excellent shot!
Ingerson"PCD" - I really love this shot! You've captured a thrilling moment that is dramatic but also has wonderful shape, colors, and lines. I also like the contrasting elements of man and machine. You did very well with the exposure, and as I said, I love the composition. Brilliant!
sandwedge - You did a great job of capturing the moment. I can almost feel the plane about to swoop close overhead. The trail of pesticides adds interest to the composition, and the DOF provides a vivid setting. Nicely done!
Congratulations to everyone. I wish I could declare a 12-way tie, but there must be a winner, and this week its... Ingerson"PCD"!
The next challenge is up to you, Ingerson.
